February Make Out Party

Was sweet!

The Handsome Public rocked us to China and back. We played a disco version of Gay Boyfriend (with a shocking key change!). We played the theme to Mimi and Flo (totally!). And Paul's harp has never sounded more fantastic.

Look how hard The Handsome Public is rocking.

And see all the awsome friends who were there!

Meow!
Grrr!

. . . makes cute jewelry, has adorable bangs!

. . . is sad that Anne's Casio SK-1 is broken, wonders about Magic Ukulele

Yeah, Sean!
Oooh, la, la

Sounds fantastic, indeed!
Drew and his twin brother weren't technically "at" Galapagos, but the last time we saw them, they just happened to be wearing matching outfits.
Love,
Sydney

PS - Anne had to get on a plane at 7am today. She's tough!!
PPS - Whatever. It's hard to use a camera phone in a dark bar. If you squint, these pictures look really, really great.

Saving the Temps

Dear Blog,

Save the Assitants wrote a very nice mention about our song 'Just a Temp'. Don't worry, you don't have to go perm if you don't want to. They also have very good advice about how to apply for a job.

You know who else wrote something nice about us this week? The Onion.

Anne and I were shopping in Williamsburg, and she went to buy a vintage picture. She told the guy at the store to, "wait a decent moment," while she sorted out her change.
He said, "You're out shopping today?"
And Anne said, "We're just waiting for band practice to start." Which was mostly true, except that we had both just bought jackets and were carrying big shopping bags.
Then the guy asked, "What band?"
"The Hazzards," Anne told him.
"Oh, I was just reading about that. You have a violin or something, right?" And then he flipped through The Onion that he was reading. I kept expecting him to find the article only to realize that it was actually about the Wau Wau Sisters or Becky & Noelle. But it really was us. Here's what The Onion said, nothing about a violin, though:
"Anne Harris and Sydney Maresca, the glockenspiel-and-ukulele duo known as The Hazzards, plink and pluck their way through songs that are playful, simple, and unabashedly girly. They’re also pretty catchy..."
Isn't that nice?

Tonight I'm going to eat hot wings and watch a play, because it's Friday.

Love,
Sydney
