Cocktober 25th

Today we are interviewed on gothamist.com. And we are playing a show tonight at Pianos (9:30pm, Ludlow & Stanton, $8). We sent out an email about it on Friday, but nobody got it yet because the site that sends out our emails is messed up, or hates us, or something. Don't be mad when you get the email on Wednesday about the show tonight, we swear we sent it out last week!
Forget the email, come to the show--it's going to be awesome. Our friends The Isotoners and Pink Steel are also playing. It's like the dream team. Plus, the show is called "Cocktoberfest" and you know you love Cocktober!

On November 10th, we are playing at Galapagos. That is also going to be awesome. You should really come to that show, too.

Hot for Hasidem

Dear Blog,

I forgot to tell you about our awesome show at Sin-e last week. In case you ever doubted the magic power of The Hazzards' ukuleles, I have two stories to report. . .

First, at rehearsal we thought it would be great to make up a new song called "Will is our Richest Friend". We didn't really finish making-up the song, but the chorus is awesome. It goes, "Will is our richest friend. Our richest friend." I think Will was sort of mad about the song, but it was true, he is our richest friend--which frankly doesn't say much. But then. . . That weekend he & Cas made a movie in 24 hours, entered it in a contest, and won! And the prize truly made him our richest friend. But still, not that rich.

Secondly, we have a new song called "Hot for Hasidem" that we played for the very first time that night. I don't know how much you know about Hasidem, Blog, but they don't frequent rock clubs very often. But as we were packing up our instruments after the show, we saw two Hasidem wander into the club. They were just hanging out at Sin-e. We're pretty sure they heard our siren call. It's too bad they didn't make it in time to see us in our glittery outfits.

The show at Sin-e was really fun. Gabby the sound-guy wore a hat and scolded us, which wasn't so fun. I thought we won him over by the end of our set, but he also might have been scowling at us the whole time. Hard to tell under the hat. Christian from Bishop Allen was there with Anne's friend Sean and I was embarassingly fan-y when I talked to him. What else could I do? I do love his band. Also, I'm a little bit mad (and/or jealous) that they have a PowerPoint presentation on their website. Oliver's mom came, and she liked it so much that she's coming next week--with a posse! She's rad!

On another note: One day, I hope to have my very own Whiskey Tits.

Also, I have a very funny picture of my cat in a fez. I love my cat.

BFF!

Love,
Sydney

Anne and Sydney + Tim and Mike = TLA!!

Being in a long distance relationship is hard work. But for true love, its worth it. Check out these awesome photos all the way from the UK!! We met Tim and Mike last year in London (remember that?!!). They came to our show at the Betsey Trotwood, sang along to all of our songs and brought us our favourite kind of cheese. We had so much fun together that they forgot to catch their train back to school and had to sleep the night in Burger King. We heart those guys bigtime.

Hope to see you in the UK again soon, Tim & Mike!
We'll always have the Betsey Trotwood.
love,
Anne

DEAR DIARY: Circle of friends.

Dear Diary,
Hi! Last night at Chrissy's sleepover we watched Ghost, ate tons of chips and onion dip, and played that truth game again. After we were finished giving eachother backrubs and planning who we were going to ask to snowball (Mike Muldoon!!), we all sat in a circle and everyone told eachother one thing they don't like about eachother. (For example, we told Shannon that she sings too much in homeroom and that we don't like it that Marie smokes cigarettes :-( ) Once we got through that (it took a while, Amy was crying a ton, whatever! She *does* have weird hair.), we went around and told everyone one thing we thought was awesome about eachother. (We told Carey she had a really great vocabulary and Fay that she's really good at cello.) Emily (who has too many exclusive private jokes with Carey but is really good at site reading music in Choral Spectrum) learned this game at smartkids camp or something. Anyways, the sleepover was fun and I think we're all much better friends now. And we're going to work on not acting stupid when boys are around, Claire hates that.

Anne & Sydney
